I once named a painting the same name. Awesome!

I like the tribal feel to this one!

I haven't heard that interpretation before. Interesting...

Love the color play here, they really " pop". Happy Halloween Fred!

This painting doesn't exist anymore, sadly. I didn't like it at the time and painted over it. Now I regret it. Happy Halloween to you too 8-)

Thanks so much :) Unfortunately I painted over this canvas, so the digital version is the only survivor.

Primary colors are always a good thing.

Sadly this one doesn't exist in the real world anymore... sometimes I get carried away reinventing paintings, this one is now hidden under many other layers, but remains unresolved.

Have you studied the pop-art period? They also really love repetition. I love your colors!

Posted by frederiqueroy70 on November 07, 2011

Yes, i think I am influenced by Pop Art, especially Warhol. But also my recurring icons are like a language, like my little figures are hieroglyphs symbolizing more complex human experience...

Posted by lindseymatousek on November 07, 2011

That's awesome! You should look at artist Jen Pepper, she is actually one of my professors but is a professional artist as well, she does a lot of work with language.

Thanks, I'll look her up, great name !

Ditto to my other comment. Do you use stamps? I see come repetition. Block print?

Posted by frederiqueroy70 on April 11, 2011

Yes, I love repetition... not sure why... it's like the repeating images represent a language (hyroglyph)... they are lino-cut prints

Posted by theinfinitenow on April 11, 2011

I loved printmaking when I was in school! Ha ha ha oh yeah, I'm a bad speller "come" should be "some" as I'm sure you realized. :)

I didn't even notice the mistake... I often forget to check what I've written before posting :) Thanks for the stars and comments; you may like my photo folders, I have 2 called 'experiemental photography"and "New xperimental photo..." I'd love any feedback you might have.

Thanks Judith. I think this was the piece that led to my using maps in my work
