Stone History (for Lolz & the curious): This is one of THE oldest known gemstones (and another rival of the bigger gemstone families). In ancient writings, the term Jasper was chiefly applied to translucent and brightly colored stones, particularly chalcedony, but it was also was applied to opaque Jasper. It was known as the great "rain-bringer" in the 4th century. For thousands of years, Black Jasper has been used as a touchstone to test gold-silver alloys for their gold content. It's one of the many gemstones used in Commesso / Florentine Mosaics. Specific types of Jasper have been put to certain uses: Leopard Skin Jasper is said to bring one what they need; Poppy Jasper is said to help bring joy into one's life; Opalite Jasper is said to help one sleep. Jasper, in general, has been used over the ages in various ways to relieve mental stress, bring tranquility, achieve balance in one's life, restore "wholeness," establish personal independence, as well as offer powerful protection from things that harm, including fears in the night, while easing emotional stresses and promote courage (a catch-all elixir cure of sorts). It's been associated with relaxation, contentment, compassion, nurturing, consolation and stability.
Jasper is a part of a series called Birthstone Bishonen; AKA: 誕生石(たんじょうせき)の美少年(びしょうねん), or Tanjouseki no Bishonen. Essentially, each character is a personification of one of 35 (yes, *35*) of the most popular Birthstones. =ow~= <3

Credits: The majority of the free-use Photoshop brushes and patterns I highlighted throughout the seires are from the interwebs (yay Google!). There are a few that are from deviantART, but I've so many from so many different sources that I don't know who they came from. SORRY!!1 =>_<'''=
But! I did use A LOT of Gimei's { http://gimei.deviantart.com/ } resources. It's kind of obvious once you see 'em. Also take a gander at the rest of their gallery; it's amazing. =>w<= <3
