Stone History (for Lolz & the curious): Hyacinth, also spelled as Jacinth, is the yellow, orange and/or red variety of zircon. It was used to a great extent in classical antiquity. It occurs in the clear, transparent red, orange, and yellow colors. Hyacinth is but one of the many members of the Zircon family; the rest of the members include: colorless zircon (Ceylon or Matura diamond), blue (Starlite / Siam zircon), brown and green zircon (another rival of the bigger gemstone families; mafia games anyone?); each of them have had their own great many different uses, symbolisms, beliefs and traditions over the centuries. Though Hyacinth was said to help raise one's self-esteem (please do not use in place of anti-depressants).
Chef Hyacinth is a part of a series called Birthstone Bishonen; AKA: 誕生石(たんじょうせき)の美少年(びしょうねん), or Tanjouseki no Bishonen. Essentially, each character is a personification of one of 35 (yes, *35*) of the most popular Birthstones. =ow~= <3

Credits: The majority of the free-use Photoshop brushes and patterns I highlighted throughout the seires are from the interwebs (yay Google!). There are a few that are from deviantART, but I've so many from so many different sources that I don't know who they came from. SORRY!!1 =>_<'''=
But! I did use A LOT of Gimei's { http://gimei.deviantart.com/ } resources. It's kind of obvious once you see 'em. Also take a gander at the rest of their gallery; it's amazing. =>w<= <3
