Andrew McCoy is a practicing Fine Artist with an interest in Contemporary Queer theory, the abject non-heteronormal cultural experience, and craft-fine art integration in his work as well as an experienced Curator. He lives and works out of Kansas City, MO. He began his higher education at the Kansas City Art Institute, and at Kendall College of Art and Design he finished and received his Bachelor’s Degree in the Fine Arts: Influence in Painting, with a minor in Photography. His work has been shown nationally, as well as in several venues in Michigan, many times in Grand Rapids. McCoy’s work has been recently recognized with the Gallery Award from the KCAD Painting Department upon graduation (as well as academic honors) and a first place award for his work form the Regional Arts Competition held in the Grand Rapids Art Museum in 2011.
